Ever heard the term, “You are what you eat”? Frequently, we are always looking for ways to improve our skin. Well, eating these super foods will lead you to your path to clearer skin and a healthier body. Often times, we forget the natural antidotes are available at our local grocery stores.

Berries

For example, blackberries and raspberries are compound fruits. They’re collections of multiple individual fruits. They are loaded with fiber, vitamin C, potassium, copper, iron, and among other valuable nutrients. They are dripping with anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are robust antioxidants that provide protection against cancer and other diseases. Overall they help improve your skin by leaving it smooth and silky.

Sweet Potatoes

This power food should not only be part of your Thanksgiving tradition. Sweet Potatoes are a nutritional A-Lister. Although its peak season is in November and December, you can still get it from special grocers like Whole Foods or Bristol Farms. It has plenty of Vitamin A. Vitamin A provides a shield against colds, helps thwart wrinkles, and lends a hand in keeping your skin fresh

Avocados

Besides helping lower your cholesterol, this potassium rich food is great for preventing dry skin. It also helps bruises heal faster and delays premature wrinkles.

Seafood and Red Meat

Ever notice the white spots on your finger nails? Oysters, shrimp, and steak are foods are very rich in zinc. The Food and Drug Administration recommends that we consume 15mg of zinc per day. The bottom line is that zinc is great for acne protection.  Not getting enough zinc in your body can also lead to hair loss and eczema.
