These stringent economical times are forcing many businesses to become smaller. As a result they’re losing customers and some are even shutting down completely. However, studies indicate that this is not the case with the spa industry. The number of visitors spending time at spas has more than doubled from 2003 to 2009. Our ageing population has led to growing consciousness towards well-being which has resulted in a boom in the spa industry. Spas are no longer exclusively limited to the wealthy and many consumers no longer see the spa as “pampering”, but as a requisite to stay healthy and to look good. This growth may also be the result of the stresses that many individuals undergo due to the unstable economy.
